CASA Backpack Stuffing

Every year in August, our group hosts a backpack stuffing party. We get together and pack each school bag with the necessary supplies kids need each year. All of the backpacks collected are donated to Idaho's 3rd Judicial District of CASA located in Caldwell Idaho. This group serves several hundred kids each year. We are happy to help provide necessities for the children to be successful in school.

In 2014, Our Sixth Annual Backpack Stuffing for CASA was very successful. Thank you to all who donated time, backpacks, school supplies, and money to help the children in need. We collected 69 backpacks this year. In the six years since starting, our Backpack Stuffing program has donated 281 backpacks filled with supplies. Great job ladies!

Theta's International Day of Service

Kappa Alpha Theta's Day of Service is Oct. 19. Since its inception in 2009, the International Day of Service brings Theta collegians and alumnae together in service, linked heart to heart, in honor of founder Bettie Locke Hamilton on her birthday. Day of Service is about taking time out of our busy lives one day a year to purposefully spread the widest influence for good to Thetas and non-Thetas alike. Really, it's the power of one multiplied by 200,000—the number of living, initiated members around the world.

The Boise Alumnae Chapter has participated in various projects for Theta's Day of Service. In 2013, we baked goodies and dinner for the residents of he Ronald McDonald House of Boise.  In 2014, we helped with setup, front desk responsibilities, and tear down of the Grand Opening of the nonprofit group Idaho Chapter Office of Foundation Aiding The Elderly (FATE).
